That's all follks

I should have paid more attention to Pete Van Dyk's end of the year ramblings about graduation and the depressing implications thereof.

Quickly I am in Need of Assistance

Due to idiotic scheduling and a complete lack of anything resembling a work ethic i have to write a ten page paper tomorrow. Now that I have painted myself into this corner I have decided that I no longer am responsible for finishing, or even starting the paper. Therefore one of you, will have to write it for me.

In other news, the Fish House is not kind to A Thousand Plateaus. Good thing we only have to play for 15 minutes tonight.

In other news, I still don't have a job...stop asking.

In other news, Breathe Owl Breathe + Jose Gonzalez (minus accents for previously stated reasons) = continuing the tradition of having over the top amazing performances in the Ladies Lit. I can't wait until Christ Rock McGee and the Jesus Punks ruin it for everyone next year.

In other news, check out the June issue of the Revue magazine when it comes out.

In other news, I think I'm going to change around my background.

at long last

This is not a guaranteed entry in to the world of blogger.
It is just a sign that once in a while an aesthetic change is necessary.

Yesterday I watched a master at work...fingers danced over keys, manipulating screens. He He made art from bits and bytes of musical data. The art of the audio engineer has gone up 12 points in My Industrial Average. If I could be passionate about anything, it would be music.

side note: The double edged sword of the digital age has simultaneously made it possible for the world to record sounds, and made it impossible for the true artists of the field to be recognized. I have not lost hope, however, as a high quality, non-DRM format is the wave (yeah, I know) of the future...or so says Steve Jobs. Eventually the ridiculous compression of MySpace will no longer be the norm, and recording artists will get their due.

In other words, I would love to learn how to do what Jon Faber does so effortlessly. My audio teacher teased me with an unbelievable internship. He made me think that maybe that is the way I should go. The end of my life is creeping up on me, one class at a time.

If you develop an ear for sounds that are musical it is like developing an ego. You begin to refuse sounds that are not musical and that way cut yourself off from a good deal of experience.

Xanga

So this isn't a very good way to read about Joel Stob. I keep this account around basically so I can make lude and outrageous comments on other peoples blogger sites. I like the layout better, but i feel like i've invested enough into xanga that i should keep it going.

Lets Just Start With This Week

this was a post about spring break in California with my sister, but I decided to delete it...due to an extreme lack of punctuation.

My First Entry

It is quite ironic that I post my first post here. Here being the city of the famous and aspiring actors and musicians, a city so different from my home (and it really is my home) that it is almost an uneasy feeling sitting here. Am i doomed to a boring life with a white picket fence in a clean nice neighborhood with pta meetings and church picnics. Blech, I want so bad to screw everything abd move here, just to be surrounded by all the people i admire, to hopefully scrape by as a struggling actor and break into the big time by selling out gloriously. Walking around and seeing all of the insanely beautiful women around LA i think about how much i want a girl to just walk aroung the mall with holding hands. Honestly i just want the kinda of innocent uncomfortable moment of a first kiss between two people. God im such a pussy. i hope my blog eventually turns into a mating between a historical journal and a ranting board. Thats all for now.
